Renée has been delighting audiences throughout the bay area for 40 years. Beach Blanket Babylon is the world’s longest running musical review spanning a 45 year run of which Renée spent over 33 years gracing its stage. Renée herself is the longest running performer in a musical review, ever (mic drop). The SF Chronicle touts Renée as San Francisco’s “resident diva” and a “local treasure”. She has been cited with numerous awards and recognition including a Certificate of Honor from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and the Mayor at the 55th anniversary of the Human Rights Commission. After serving as the Vocal Jazz Coach and Choir Director at San Francisco State University for 12 years, Renée continues to perform bringing her rich flair and style to musical and theatrical venues throughout the Bay Area. Renée debuted as feature soloist for Jazz Faire IV with Quincy Jones. Theatrical performances include For Colored Girls…, Jesus Christ Superstar, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Tintypes, They’re Playing Our Song, Eubie, Twelfth Night, and Merry Wives of Windsor.
A native San Franciscan who studied Environmental Biology at San Jose State University, she previously directed the SFSU Jazz Choir as Vocal Jazz Coach. Renée provides private vocal and audition coaching with Dr. Dee Spencer and is honored to have worked with X-Factor semi-finalist Jason Brock. Other credits include voice over work in radio and television.
